Nationals right fielder Jayson Werth sat out Friday's game against the D-backs after being hit on his left elbow by a pitch during Washington's 6-1 victory over Arizona the previous day.

Zimmermann scratched with stiff neck

Nationals right-hander Jordan Zimmermann was scratched for Monday's start with Class A Potomac because of a stiff neck. He will be evaluated Tuesday.

Guzman scratched with stiff neck

Nationals second baseman Cristian Guzman was scratched from the lineup in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the O's, because of a stiff neck. Instead Adam Kennedy, who went 2-for-4, received the start.
