LaRoche on 60-day DL; Pudge activated

The Nationals put Adam LaRoche on the 60-day disabled list Saturday to make room on the 40-man roster for left-hander Tom Milone, who made his Major League debut Saturday night against the Mets.

Johnson: Pudge to be back next homestand

Nationals catcher Ivan Rodriguez is expected to be activated from the 15-day disabled list during the next homestand, according to manager Davey Johnson. The skipper needs to talk to the trainers before such a move is made.

Pudge to test oblique in rehab assignment

Pudge takes swings, reports no problems

Nationals catcher Ivan Rodriguez, on the disabled list because of a right oblique strain, took about 25 swings off a tee without any problems on Saturday afternoon.

Nats' Johnson could see Pudge return in 2012

Nats manager Davey Johnson is hoping Ivan Rodriguez is activated when the roster expands sometime in September. Johnson also said he would like to have Rodriguez back for next season. However, Jesus Flores could determine if Rodriguez returns to Washington.
