Morse scratched late with right lat strain

Nationals left fielder Michael Morse was a late scratch on Tuesday because of right lat strain. He is listed as day to day. Bryce Harper, who was slated to enter the contest later, started in right field, with Brett Carroll sliding over to left.

Nats hold off late rallies to even up series

It looked like Deja vu all over again on Friday night, as the Nationals leapt to an early lead before the Rockies rallied to tighten the game. But Washington rewrote the script after its series-opening loss, holding on to win, 5-3, and evening the four-game series.
