Harris possible addition to bench next year

The Nationals have had an unproductive bench this season, going 31-for-165 with two home runs and 11 RBIs. Might they consider bringing Mets outfielder Willie Harris back into the fold next year?

Now with Mets, Harris holds Nats in high regard

Mets outfielder Willie Harris, who called Washington home for three seasons, said it feels weird not wearing a Nationals uniform. He had close relationships with the Lerner family, general manager Mike Rizzo and several of the players, including shortstop Ian Desmond and center fielder Nyjer Morgan.

Nationals look to replace Harris on bench

Utility player Willie Harris is not expected to return to the Nationals. Instead, he will sign with another Major League club as early as this week, according to a baseball source.

Entering the offseason, Albert Gonzalez and Mike Morse were the only reserves expected to return to the Nationals next season.

Harris has respect for Cox

Nationals outfielder Willie Harris called Braves manager Bobby Cox one of the best managers he's played for. Harris played in Atlanta in 2007 and had one of his best seasons, hitting .270 with two home runs and 32 RBIs.
