Defensive miscues prove costly for Nats

The Nationals lost their fifth consecutive on Saturday, this one a 6-3 loss to the Reds at Great American Ball Park. Washington dropped to 62-69.

Zimmerman gets a break from defensive action

Nationals interim manager John McLaren gave third baseman Ryan Zimmerman a chance to take a break on Saturday against the White Sox, slotting him in as the designated hitter.

Marrero improving on defensive side

Before this spring, Chris Marrero had a reputation of being an above-average hitter, but had problems on defense. During his Minor League career, Marrero had made 54 errors in 3,124 chances.

Defensive miscues cost Nats in finale

Defense continued to be a problem for the Nationals as they fell to the Brewers, 8-3, on Sunday and were swept in the three-game series.
