Nats' bats back Strasburg's win over Reds

Right-hander Stephen Strasburg was solid for 5 2/3 innings, and that was good enough to help the Nationals defeat the Reds, 8-5, in front of the sellout crowd of 37,868 at Great American Ball Park.

Atilano to miss start with sore elbow

Nationals right-hander Luis Atilano will not make his scheduled start against the Brewers on Sunday because of a sore right elbow.

Morse continues to produce for Nats

Outfielder/first baseman Mike Morse continues to be productive while coming off the bench. In his latest performance, he came in as a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning Tuesday and hit a three-run triple off Reds left-hander Bill Bray.

Zimmermann shines in fourth rehab start

Right-hander Jordan Zimmermann had his fourth rehab start on Wednesday. He pitched four shutout innings, allowing two hits and striking out four batters. He threw 47 pitches, 34 strikes.

Nationals' rally against Reds falls just short

The Nationals showed that they had some fight in them, but they were edged by the Reds, 8-7, at Great American Ball Park on Tuesday night in a game interrupted nearly three hours by a rain delay.
